Beginners Courses
Never shot a bow in your life? Done a bit at school or at cubs/scouts etc? Then you need to enrol on one of our beginners courses.
The club holds two beginners courses, usually in the Spring and Autumn. These are run on the shooting field at St. Martins School.
The course is run over four weeks. Four sessions will give you the basic information on equipment, rules and technique. The optional fifth session is a fun competition shot with the other members of the club. The whole course fee, which includes hire of all equipment, is £50.

Our next course will start on Sunday 15th September 2024 and run for four weeks until Sunday 6th October 2024.
Ideally, you should attend all four weeks and attendance on the first week (15th September) is required. Completion of a minimum of three sessions is required to attain a course certificate.
There will be an optional fifth session on Sunday 13th October, comprising a fun competition.
The course will be held outdoors at St Martins School, Ranmore Road, Dorking, RH4 1HW. There is parking in the school car park and toilet facilities are available. Sessions include a break with tea/coffee/squash and biscuits/cake provided.
Our minimum age for participants is normally 10 years old, but slightly younger may be OK depending on the size of the child – please get in touch to discuss. There is no maximum age limit.
